NABARD Launches ‘RSVC-AMRIT’ Platform to Empower Rural Innovation and Tech Transfer

Why in the News?
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India (OPSA), launched the RSVC-AMRIT digital platform to accelerate rural innovation and last-mile technology dissemination. The platform was unveiled on the 80th Independence Day by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to GoI, alongside NABARD Chairman Dr. Shaji Krishnan V.
Key Features / Major Points:
AMRIT Full Form: Accelerated Medium for Rural Innovations and Technologies.
Core Objective: Serves as the digital backbone for the RuTAGe Smart Village Centre (RSVC) framework, facilitating seamless technology dissemination, impact monitoring, feedback, and collaboration.
Target Sectors: Promotes affordable technologies across key areas including agriculture, rural enterprises, renewable energy, education, assistive tech, water, and sanitation.
Execution & CSR Partnership: NABFOUNDATION (a subsidiary of NABARD) will act as the key implementing partner for projects executed via Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) collaborations.
