ISRO to Launch India's 1st Geo-Imaging Satellite EOS-05
Why in the News?
India's first geo-imaging satellite, EOS-05, is scheduled for launch on September 4 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota. Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that the GSLV-F17 rocket will place the satellite into a Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit.

Mission Details: This marks the 19th flight of the GSLV, carrying the 2,367 kg EOS-05 (also known as GISAT-1A) satellite.
Objective & Significance: Placed in a geosynchronous orbit, it will provide real-time, high-resolution imaging of the Indian subcontinent for disaster monitoring, agriculture, and national security.
