Indian Army to Connect 41 Army Stations with PNG

Why in the News?

The Indian Army is transitioning to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to replace conventional fuels across its military establishments. In the first phase, a target has been set to connect 41 Army stations to PNG in FY 2026-27. In line with this, the 'PNG Transition Webinar-2026' was organized at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt.

Phased Target: 41 Army stations will be connected to PNG in the initial phase, with plans to expand to other viable stations later.

Release of Guidelines: The 'Indian Army PNG Guide' was launched to serve as a reference document covering administrative, technical, and safety requirements for the transition.
