India to Host 5th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in New Delhi in February 2027

Why in the News?
Coinciding with the Golden Jubilee (Swarnim Jayanti) of the Indian Coast Guard (Bharatiya Tatrakshak), India will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in New Delhi in February 2027. As part of the preparations, the Indian Coast Guard hosted the Working Level Meeting (WLM) for the summit in a hybrid mode.

Vision & Objective: The 5th CGGS reflects Bharat’s MAHASAGAR vision, aiming to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-looking global maritime order.
Key Deliberations at WLM: The Working Level Meeting focused on refining CGGS Meeting Guidelines, strengthening the Information Sharing Mechanism, and managing the official CGGS digital platform.
Capacity Building: Emphasized enhancing collective maritime capabilities through the exchange of professional expertise, operational experiences, and best practices among participating global agencies.
