India virtually hosted the 8th BRICS Youth Energy Summit 2026 on August 17 under its BRICS Chairship, bringing together over 100 young energy professionals, policymakers, and academics to foster youth-led energy cooperation.

BRICS Chairship Theme: "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability".
Energy Track Theme: “सर्वेषां ऊर्जम्” (Energy for All), emphasizing universal, affordable, and inclusive energy access.
Key Participants: Representatives from BRICS member nations, along with international bodies like BRICS Youth Energy Agency (BRICS YEA), Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), International Solar Alliance (ISA), and IRENA.
Indian Schemes Highlighted: National initiatives like PM-KUSUM, PM Surya Ghar, the SHANTI Act, and the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) were showcased.
