Anurag Jain Assumes Charge as New CEO of NITI Aayog

Senior IAS officer of the 1989 Madhya Pradesh cadre, Anurag Jain, has taken charge as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog. Bringing nearly four decades of rich experience in public administration, governance, and policy creation, his appointment has been approved for a tenure of two years or until further orders.
Key Features / Major Points:
Tenure and Approval: His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for a period of two years.
Administrative Experience: Prior to this role, he served as the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and Secretary at DPIIT.
Predecessor: He succeeds B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, whose extended tenure as CEO concluded recently.
Core Responsibility: As CEO, he will spearhead key development initiatives, strengthen policy implementation, and enhance Centre-State policy coordination.
