Aga Khan V Begins Seven-Day India Visit; To Meet President, PM

Why in the News?
Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and Chair of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), arrived in India for a seven-day official visit (September 9–15) at the invitation of Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan.

Maiden Visit as 50th Imam: This marks Prince Rahim's first visit to India since assuming office as the 50th Imam in February 2025, following the demise of his father, Prince Karim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV.
High-Level Engagements: Scheduled to call on President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
